Coordinators form part of a team, working at “tree towers” to ensure everything runs smoothly on the collection weekend.  Some roles can also be done remotely from home.  It is one of the few roles on the collection weekend that doesn’t involve getting cold, wet, and covered in pine needles!

Possible tasks include:

  • Monitoring incoming communications to the help@collectmytree.co.uk inbox from customers, and responding appropriately (we have a set of draft responses to many common queries) or redirecting the issue as appropriate
  • Monitoring incoming SMS text messages from customers in response to our automated “we have collected your tree” (or “we failed to collect your tree”) texts, and responding accordingly
  • Monitoring communications on the our WhatsApp chat groups and helping to respond to any issues raised by navigators or van crews
  • Helping assign routes to van crews and ensure they have the information they need
  • Helping to put collection tasks into a sensible route order for van crews
  • Helping to manage any emergencies or issues that might arise during the collection weekend

Equipment

Please bring along a laptop or similar device, and your mobile phone.

In advance of the weekend, we’ll make sure you have access to the help@ email inbox, and are invited to join any relevant WhatsApp groups.  We will also give you access to Shopify (our online store and database of orders) and OnFleet (the van routing system) as needed.  You’ll have WiFi access and we’ll provide drinks and snacks.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
