Take the Four Week Challenge

The four week challenge is a gradual introduction to Scouts. Come along and help out for just four weeks, while a more experienced leader shows you the ropes and helps you get involved.

The Four Week Challenge

Volunteer for four weeks and be amazed at the difference you’ll make.

Week 1 Come along, meet everyone, and see what we get up to

  • You’ll be introduced to everyone
  • We’ll show you what we do and how we do it
  • You might be given something to do – a task which isn’t too big or complicated
  • We’ll follow up afterwards and answer any questions you have

Week 2 Start to help out, doing something easy but really useful

  • You’ll join in the fun, maybe helping to run a short activity or game, or oversee an activity
  • At the end of the session, we’ll ask you to help us prepare an activity for next week

Week 3 Get a little more involved, and lead an activity

  • By now, hopefully you’ll be starting to feel like you’re part of the team
  • We’ll get you involved in everything

Week 4 Join in the fun, help out again, and review the experience

  • We’ll set time aside during or after the meeting to find out how you’ve found the challenge
  • We’ll want to know if you’d be interested in helping again and how
  • Or if you know anyone else who would enjoy trying the challenge
  • Most importantly, we’ll be grateful for your time and effort

After four weeks, you’ll know if scouting is for you. Beyond that, it’s
up to you. Any help you can offer is truly amazing.
