Summer Camp 2024 – Sun, Sea, Scouts, Sausages, etc.

Date: 3rd Aug 2024 Author: Nigel Harris

Along with five intrepid adult volunteers, a select group of scouts and explorers ventured to the Woodhouse Park campsite and activity centre near Bristol for a week of outdoor fun and challenges.  First challenge – pitch your tent.  Second challenge – cook something to eat.  It’s a hands-on experience at scout camp!

The week included masses of activities, including archery, caving, stand-up paddleboarding, and shooting.  There were trips to the seaside and to the Fleet Air Arm museum.  There were hikes, campfires, cooking competitions and movie nights.  The sun shone throughout, and the views from the camp site were spectacular.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
