Summer Camp 2021

Date: 25th Aug 2021 Author: Nigel Harris

The scouts and explorers had a brilliant time at their summer camp on the Isle of Wight.  Stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, raft building, water slides, water fights, roped climbing, archery, beach football, hikes, campfires, camp cooking, friendship and fun.  It was brilliant that our leaders could find a way to make all this possible despite covid restrictions.  Great to see so our scouts and explorers (and the leaders!) enjoying a camp under canvas together after not having been allowed to have “nights away” events for so long.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
