Scouts in Space

Date: 6th Dec 2021 Author: Nigel Harris

Proving that scouting isn’t all about tents and campfires, the scout section spent an evening learning how to pilot a spaceship, taking on the roles of bridge officers at the screens of a spaceship simulator.  Kudos to scout leader Nick and his team for turning the church hall into something that (with a bit of imagination) resembled the bridge of the Starship Enterprise.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
