Scouting usually means lots of teamwork and togetherness, both indoors and outdoors.  In the past few months, our leaders have faced the unusual challenge of creating a programme of fun learning experiences that we can do without being together face to face.  They have done a brilliant job, as evidenced by the strong attendances that we have seen.

Our regular weekly meetings at the Church Hall have been replaced with Zoom sessions.  Camping has moved to the garden, or to indoor dens ingeniously constructed.  Zoom sessions have included everything from treasure hunts to Scratch coding to online escape room challenges.  But among the most popular sessions (for the young people, if not necessarily for their parents) have been home cooking lessons.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
