Amazing Weekend at Scoutabout 2022

Date: 4th Jul 2022 Author: Nigel Harris

The first weekend of July, sixteen of our Scouts, with five of our leaders, joined nearly five thousand other Scouts and Guides at Scoutabout 2022, at Ardingly showground. This extraordinary event happens once every three years, and offers a weekend with over 200 amazing activities, from Archery and Abseiling to Wellie throwing and Woggle making. On top of this it is a sort of Glastonbury for 10-14 year-olds with a live music concert on the Saturday night.

We’ve put up a gallery of some pictures so you can see how much fun was had!

If you missed out this time, the good news is that the next Scoutabout comes up in just two years’ time, in 2024, because this year’s event was delayed by Covid-19.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
