Explorers Go Ape!

Date: 2nd Jul 2024 Author: Nigel Harris

On a slightly gloomy July evening, the explorer scouts took to the trees, with a visit to the Go Ape high ropes at Chessington. By this stage in their scouting journey, having been on numerous camps and outings, most of them seemed entirely at home with climbing harnesses and heights, but the high ropes courses still had some new challenges for them.

The final zip wire descent was very popular – most of them went round for at least one or two extra goes!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
